PhD defence by Kari Rye Schougaard Nørgaard
The PhD defence is a public defence and will take place in Ada-333. In the pervasive computing domain location is an important concept. Kari has during her phD studies been involved in three projects, each tackling a different aspect of location: distance-based access modifiers on methods, physical location prediction, and combination of different kinds of distance: e.g. physical distance, communication distance, and cooperation-relations. In the thesis these projects are described. Furthermore, the thesis contains an introduction to philosophical and psychological theories of location. An extraction of the essentials of these theories forms the basis of a location model presented in the thesis. |
